18 years or older; diagnosed with alopecia areata; about to start an oral JAK inhibitor; able to travel to UCSF for two in-person study visits
Researchers at UCSF are studying how people with alopecia areata respond to current therapies with the hope of developing new and better treatments.
Study participants will be asked to donate a scalp biopsy and blood sample at two separate study visits, before and after starting on an oral JAK inhibitor medication.
Study participants may be compensated up to $350 for their time and effort.
