Spotlight On Coming Up Rosies

logo.jpg

Coming Up Rosies embodies Rosie’s dream to “help kids who look like me.”

Rosie was diagnosed with alopecia universalis at 2 years old. To help foster her self-esteem, we transferred some of her artwork onto a head scarf, so people would comment on her one-of-a-kind headwear—her art—instead of her hair loss. Rosie was overjoyed when we gave her the custom scarf. Her first question was, “What about the other bald kids? We should make these for all the bald kids who look like me.” Coming Up Rosies was born. Whether you buy one of Rosie’s inspired head or neck scarves, or create your own, our goal is to make you feel comfortable in your own skin. The Curse of the Fates

The story, written by Sydney Olson, is of a young healthy girl experiencing the psychological and social effects of losing her hair. She doesn't understand why it's happening and believes the Fates have cursed her. The main character, Lottie, is experiencing alopecia.  Sydeny hopes this book will reach out and help a little girl/kid in the world as it has helped her to accept having alopecia and to have hope. In Notes section of checkout, indicate "NAAF"  so a portion of proceeds is donated to NAAF.
